Tracee Ellis Dedicates Her Golden Globe To ‘All The Colorful People’

Hang on to your hats, ladies and gentleman — Tracee Ellis Ross is officially a Golden Globe winner!

The Black-ish actress took home the award for Best Actress in a TV musical or comedy, and although this was Tracee’s first Golden Globe, it was also the first time a black woman has won that award since 1983.

Over the last few years, award shows such as the Oscars have received negative attention for being primarily white-oriented, so Tracee bringing home the Golden Globe was a huge milestone for the African American community.

“This is for all of the women,” Tracee said during her acceptance speech. “Women of color, and all of the colorful people. I want you to know: I see you. We see you!”

Her speech touched on the importance of having more diversity in television and film, but most importantly she inspired all who were in attendance to never back down!
